Thoughts on the Management Philosophy of Various Japanese Companies - February 2024
It was not until the third year after the establishment of Hardlock Industry Co., Ltd. that the Hardlock Nut business finally got off the ground.
I know you can't wait to find out what happened to the Hardlock Nut business after that.
Sorry to disappoint you, but you will have to wait until the next edition for that story.
Next time, we'll pick up where we left off in the previous edition.
Today, I'd like to thoroughly explain to you what it really means to run a business with the spirit of altruism.
Surprisingly perhaps, having the spirit of altruism is nothing special.
On a personal note, I, the present writer, lost my mother two months ago.
She had always prioritized my needs above her own and had always been worried about me.
I'm so grateful to my mother for loving me so much, and I still cry when I think of her.
At the same time, I regret every day that I did not take better care of her when she was alive.
You may not know this, but the spirit of altruism originates from a mother's love and affection for her child and the child's filial piety to their elderly parent.
In fact, the late Kazuo Inamori said so when he gave a lecture. I've recently found out about it in his lecture recordings.
Those who run a business should seriously take care of their employees and customers as well as other stakeholders who are involved in the business, just as a mother loves her child.
It is most important that business managers or leaders have a strong desire to contribute to the world by providing products that are useful to people, and, at the same time, to make the lives of their hard-working employees and their families as rich as possible.
Such business managers or leaders are bound to be trusted by their employees and customers.
The employees and customers strongly believe that, one day, their relentless efforts will bear fruit and the company's business will be highly regarded.
They have no doubt that their manager or leader will not let them down once the company starts to make enough profits.
That's why they put their trust in their manager or leader and are ready to be with the manager or leader every step of the way even if they are having a hard time now.
The key to running a successful business is to have the human spirit.
If you do your best, together with your employees, to achieve a higher goal that is virtuous and noble, your company will earn great respect and surely reap profits as a result.
The same is true for Kyoto Ceramic Co., Ltd. and Hardlock Industry Co., Ltd.
Business managers and leaders who are trusted have something in common.
To be continued in the next edition.
Stay tuned for the next AOTS E-Newsletter.
